Top Line Travel is York's independent, family owned bus company.

We are based on Fulford Industrial Estate, close to the City Centre, and offer these services:

OPEN TOP CITY TOUR BUSES                                                                    We run a fleet of open top double deck buses, offering guided tours of the historic City of York every day of the year (except December 24th-26th).

One of our Dennis Trident low floor, easy access tour buses at Clifford's Tower. All of these buses have low emission technology and reduced pollution certificates.

A Guide Friday tour bus passes St Denys Church. This bus - Leyland Olympian 501 - has now been replaced and is now on its way to San Francisco for further service there.



A double deck bus at York University. This bus has 81 seats and now normally works school services, but it is available for hire.

SCHOOL BUSES                                                                                                               We run school bus services F1, F3, F4, F5 and H2 on contract to City of York Council.

YORKSHIRE AIR MUSEUM SERVICE 95                                                           We run one journey every day between Easter and September, leaving the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington Airfield at 1635 and running via Hull Road and Piccadilly to York Railway Station.  Outward journeys from York can be made on East Yorkshire service 195 (Monday to Friday), Thornes Independent service 195 (Saturday) or East Yorkshire service 18A (Sunday and Bank Holiday). The 1635 journey also runs on schooldays in winter.


RACECOURSE SHUTTLE                                                                                              We run a shuttle bus service linking the Railway Station and the Racecourse. This operates on race days, and also over the Easter weekend for the Model Railway show at the racecourse. Normal times on race days are: first bus from York Station approx. 1100 then every 10-15 minutes until 10 minutes before the first race. Return from Racecourse approx. 1630 then every 10-15 minutes until 1 hour after the last race. Fares £2 single, £3 return.

City Sightseeing tour buses are sometimes used on the Racecourse service. Here is an open top bus collecting racegoers at York Station on a hot summer's afternoon in June 2006.  

BUS HIRE                                                                                                                              Open top buses (71 to 77 seats) - for City tours, weddings, corporate hospitality, etc.                                                                                 Double deck buses - 71, 81 or 105 seats.                                               Please note that we do not undertake long distance or night club hires.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: Our drivers are happy to help - please do not hesitate to ask. Some of our City sightseeing buses are wheelchair accessible. Guide dogs are carried free of charge.

WALKING TOURS Within York City Centre, using qualified guides.

COACH PARKING                                                                                  Safe overnight parking at our depot close to York City Centre.
